Areas Covered For Delivery (N10, N11, N12)
The London postcode of N10 encomapsses the area of Muswell Hill, which is looked after by the local authorities of Haringey and Barnet. Muswell Hill dates back to the 12th century and is named after the natural spring of Mossy Well. In fact, during medieval times, people would pilgrimage to the well in order to drink its waters which were said to have healing properties. By the 18th century, the area was a village and just 100 years later it became a densely populated residential area. The areas most famous residents are brothers Ray and Dave Davies, who are part of the band The Kinks. Although the area is not connected by tube, it is still thought to be one of the capital’s most sought after areas to live in.
The New Southgate district of N11 includes part of Arnos Grove as well as New Southgate, Friern Barnet and Bounds Green. The local authorities of Enfield, Barnet and Haringey look after these areas. Southgate tube station has been likened to a ‘newly landed art deco UFO’. But there’s more to see here than just the tube station. Vintage car enthusiasts should head to the Whitewebbs Museum of Transport. Arnos Park is also worth visiting, spreading over 44 acres, with tennis courts, a children’s play area and woodland to explore.
The N12 North Finchley district also includes the area of Woodside Park and is under the local authority of Barnet. North Finchley is mainly a residential area, although it’s also a destination for shoppers and foodies thanks to its diverse range of shops and restaurants. In 1994, the area was rocked by the Balfour House Bombing, a building used by Jewish charities. Two Lebanese Palestinians were later convicted for the attack.
